Hi, after the announcement I duly upgrades to Plex Remote Pass so my few users can continue streaming from my server. However, they are all now getting the upgrade message.
Does this mean that ALL my users need to upgrade? This will of course be a deal breaker for me. Even though I only have three remote users, this will mean a total of £80 per year to use my Plex server in the future.
Which means: yes, every one of your remote users need a remote watch pass of their own.
Be advised that the same results can be achieved if only the server owner is buying a regular/full Plex Pass. Then all remote users can stream remotely without the need for a remote watch pass.
Keep also in mind that this only applies to video. Music and photos remain free.
That makes sense but not what I thought at first. I thought that upgrading me server account would allow other users to access my library. Not so it seems.
I will have to move away from Plex then… Or get a full Plex pass which I cannot justify.

I’d say this is precisely what is done by getting a full Plex Pass for yourself.
If you do that, as I mentioned above, all your shared users don’t need a remote watch pass.
I have Plex pass and share content with a few friends who now tell me that cannot access the share any more on mobile devices? Do they have to purchase the remote watch as well?
No, they don’t. You already have a full Plex Pass. (provided you have your server claimed to the same plex account that you use to write in this here forum)
If you haven’t restarted your Plex server after April 28th, do it now.
If they are using the new mobile apps, keep in mind that:
you need to be using a server software version >=1.41.2
to access libraries of the type “music” or “photos”, one must use Plexamp or “Plex Photos” respectively
