New Plex server, having issues setting up Port Forwarding

Server Version#: 4.125.1

Hey there, hoping I’m just overlooking something easy.

For a few years now, I’ve had a Plex server running on one pc in my home that is accessed remotely. Port forwarding was setup on my router, and I never had an issue with it.

Recently moved the server to a different computer, and now I can’t seem to get the port forwarding to work and we regularly are losing connection when trying to access Plex remotely.

I’ve removed the existing Port Forward definition on my router, but when I try to set it up to the new computer, I get an error message:

srventry[167] conflicts in one or all ports with srventry[203]!
srventry[203] conflicts in one or all ports with srventry[167]!

I have other Port Forward settings to this PC that work fine (Remote Desktop), it’s only when I try to set the one for Plex up that I get this issue.

Based on the error message it looks like you’re already using a the port you’re trying to forward in an existing port forward. Some routers let you specify ranges of ports – so maybe it’s not an exact match but an overlap?

Each public port can only be used 1x when setting up a port forward.

That’s what I thought too, but I’ve removed all port forwarding definitions from the router and it’s still is persisting with this error.

I guess I can try resetting the router back to factory defaults to see if that clears it

Some routers get flaky id using both UPnP and manual port forwarding at the same time. you may have to reboot router before adding new port forward rule.
