"New" Plex Tv Series Agent, Anime Library: Pro and Cons

Yes. Once this has become routine, there is not much to it.
Particularly if you use software for this task. Look up Filebot

And there is a third spelling of the title which butchers the english word even more: Aishite Naito.
There are different methods of creating Romaji spellings from Japanese in existence. Particularly when there are words which originate in English, but are used in Japanese as well, you’ll find some butchered versions of them if the person who created the Romaji didn’t have the knowledge to recognise the word and use the original English spelling.

This kind of research you’ll have to do regularly. If the precise spelling of the alternative title hasn’t been added to TheMovieDB.org or TheTVDB.com, you will have difficulty matching it.
Therefore I look up new shows on these websites to find out the best title to use for my folder names.
Sometimes I also have to employ the help of Wikipedia and/or anidb.net

The best method I’ve found is to: switch to the seasons as they are present on TheTVDB. This will present your library in a much more logical way, as direct sequels are not considered separate shows, but separate seasons of existing shows.
The reason to prefer the “aired seasons” method is because not all shows are listed with an “absolute” episode ordering.
(If there are shows which were initially aired with an undesirable episode ordering, these will usually already have an alternative ordering on TheTVDB. You can switch the episode ordering of affected shows on a case-by-case basis.)

Movies which are tie-ins to anime series are usually present in the “Specials” season.

If you encounter difficulty with matching due to the multitude of possible show titles, use the method to supply the ID numbers of ThetVDB or TheMovieDB right in the folder name of the show: https://support.plex.tv/articles/naming-and-organizing-your-tv-show-files/

No, because alternative agents and scanners

  • won’t be officially supported
  • will probably cease to work in the future, when the last remnants of Python and the old plugin system are removed from Plex

The original title of this show is in Japanese, so a Romaji version of it is not considered “original”. And all metadata sources which are relevant to Plex do list the english translation as their localized title. So Plex will of course use this title as well.
The only thing you can do is to edit the title manually and lock the title field.
