I am a brand new user to Plex so please bare with me if this is a very simple question.
Plex was able to download data for a ton of movies and tv shows for me with no problem except for one show.
The show was an anime show called Space Battleship Yamato 2199.
It looks like it kind of found it but tried to name the main folder Star Blazers 2199 and then only found one episode, that it strangely named in the folder.
What is my next step when I encounter something like this?
Please move this question to a more proper forum if need be. I only posted here because there appeared to be some discussion of anime shows here.

We need you to go in your library > edit > advanced and give us the scanner and more importantly the agent used.
i believe it is thetvdb which is horrible for anime titles and doesn't use absolute numbering by default
I however see nothing wrong as this is the english title in two seperate reference sites, each of which have an agent

If you want control, you will have to use HAMA (HTTP AniDB Metadata Agent) which use the best of both worlds
. anidb has one poster of often low quality, absolute numbering (no seasons)
. tvdb has episode summaries and fixed size high quality posters but english titles for series are bad, and it uses seasons
In the agent settings you can select main title (main), romaji (x-jat), english (en) but with hte same results as thetvdb
You can alternativelly use the BABS scanner with thetvdb absolute agent if you don't like season ordering, but if can live with superbs titles like "Star Blazers 2199" or "cat planet cuties".
I was able to clean this up with some hand editting.

Long Story - In the 1970’s an Anime called Space Battleship Yamato was created. An American company purchased the rights and renamed it to be Starblazers for American audiances. They created their own dub and changed the story line around a bit to suit a childrens audiance.
Space Battleship Yamato 2199 is a different product from what was created in the 70’s. No one has purchased the rights and changed the title to be Starblazers 2199. If you buy it from Amazon or anywhere else, you purchase it under the english name Space Battleship Yamato 2199

Your link on amazon point to a Japan Bluray, all it proves is that it is the ■■■ title.
This is an example of "confirmation bias", you uncontiously (or not) pick what goes in the direction of what you believe, not searching or disregarding the opposite information.
I have provided you with both tvdb and anidb page indicating "Star Blazers 2199" as official English title, knowing this two sites serve as metadata source depending which agent is installed. If you are sure, please update both databases, it is easy by requesting an account,
However, i can prove you can buy blurays and dvds with the supposely non-existing title:

Sorry, but i like to be precise... Please enjoy HAMA if you choose it as agent, and select main title, that will avoid ugly translations :D
Its picking them all up as Season 21 Episode 99.
Add the S01EXX to each and it should be fine

Sorry but that’s total BS. Star Blazers is now part of the official name. In fact, the new sequel series is called Star Blazers 2202 Space Battleship Yamato: Warriors of Love.

@focuspuller Add the file to plex and they will be listed in Plex. There is no TheTVDB entry for it (The TV Database, please notice the name) that’s normal, as it was released Theatrically (for noobs: in cinema only) so thetvdb will not have an entry until shown on TV and considered TV series.

You can in the meantime use an AniDB Plex agent (Link in my signature) to use the metadata available on AniDB [anidb.net/perl-bin/animedb.pl?show=anime&aid=12051], and name your sereis “Uchuu Senkan Yamato 2202 Ai no Senshi-tachi”, “Star Blazers 2202”, “Space Battleship Yamato 2202 Warriors of Love” or “Uchuu Senkan Yamato 2202”
