New Plex version

Server Version#: 3.53.7
Player Version#:

Hi,
I can see a newer version of Plex in my configuration.
But this version is not available from Synology Application portal.

What’s the best way to act ?
Is Synology used to push update often ? or should I try a manual install ? will I loose all my libraries (thumbs/configuration) ?

Thanks for your advice
Will reply probably tomorrow ! 2am here I have to sleep after a whole day on my new NAS

I have a fresh installed DS918+ Can’t find on Synology product page the requested information.
Thanks ! I will try tomorrow I think. If I do it now, and if it doesn’t work … I will stay 24h non stop near my new/first nas.

No CD in my box o0
Just a paper “quick install guide”

DS918+ is a 64bit model.

Thanks for your kind confirmation @Mi_key

If you’ve not found the information,

Download the Synology Assistant for your computer’s OS and install it.
It will help you get DSM installed.

Our advice to all is to AVOID “BTRFS” formatting. It has been extremely problematic. Select (via advanced / manual tab) “Ext4” formatting. as you create the Volume. Once formatted, it is set in stone.

After the volume is created, you can begin transferring media and then install PMS.

Thanks I found the info, have installed last Plex version, and decided to stop membership to offer myselft the lifetime pass

My NAS is already BTRFS formated. Is it a problem ?

Can’t restart all these last week job.
I have decided to go BTRFS to be able changing NAS company if I want to in the futur.
From my understanding Synology formating is their own format.

I guess there’s no way to convert btrfs to ext4 ?

I can’t really understand how critical my situation is.
I hope I won’t have any issue.
I’m meanly using the NAS for storage/backup and for my Plex library.
