Problem with Plex since Update

Hi
I am running Plex on a Synology DS918+ ( DSM 6.2.2-24922) the Plex version was a December 2018 install. When I opened the Plex app via the browser it alerted me to a new version of Plex, so I downloaded the spk file and manually installed on My Synology NAS.

Synology now states the installed version is 1.15.4.994-107756f7e, but that the new version is 1.13.4.5271-200287a06

Since the update, media added to my NAS no longer gets added to plex and can now longer launch anything in plex,

“Please check that the file exists and the necessary drive is mounted” is the error when I try tom play a movie etc

I have started and stopped the plex service, can anyone else advise who to fix this?

I have found the old version - 1.13.4.5271-200287a06.spk, so might be worth re-installing that on my DSM as perhaps the latest and greatest version 1.15.4.994-107756f7e is not supported on my current DSM?

Synology wont allow the downgrading of an app :frowning:

Be sure to read the whole thing.

Top Tip: while Synology won’t let you downgrade an app, uninstalling PMS handily leaves all the local data behind, so just reinstall with an older version and you’re good to go.

However, in this case that’s unnecessary. Sort out your file permissions as per Chuck’s excellent article and all will be well.
