New replacement Fire Stick 4K

Okay my old Fire Stick was getting slow. Purchased new 4k Stick for my 2nd residence after installing Plex app only to find out another massive CHANGE! Not the original format! Not meant to be for Lifetime users who have their own library! Ment for ad revenue pushing :rightwards_pushing_hand: streaming content I already OWN! So after calming down I click on the on live TV of course pushing their streaming services! I clicked on my personal TV which I have 12 tuners! Only to crash 4 times in a row! New install! So did the usual cleared the cache reboot  Nope CRASH EVERY TIME! And you give no options for Lifetime users to go back to the version that WORKS! Thank you wow now at my other home only to be able stream my movies! Not live local TV channels for news and weather you guys REALLY TAKE THE CAKE

You didn’t get the Fire TV Stick 4K Select, did you?

Here is the one I got. https://www.amazon.com/amazon-fire-tv-stick-4K-select/dp/B0C6W3D4RM

That’s the one referred to in the article I linked above. Unfortunately, you’ll likely not have a good experience with Plex on it currently (as the post states).

Has anyone tried older versions of Plex app?

So no word from the Plex coders? How long has this been broken? Why not allow the ability to roll back to working version? I bet Netflix works fine :slightly_smiling_face: oh all they care about is Plex streaming for ad revenue is working awwww again Lifetime at the bottom of the barrel

Best thing you can do is return that Firestick and get a 4K Max Firestick instead.

It’s not really Plex fault. Amazon has gimped that stick you bought and it has a different operating system as well.

The ONN 4K devices are an option as well.

They run Android TV and use the Plex Android TV app (same as Amazon FireStick).

They have a less cluttered Android home screen than the Amazon devices, showing just the installed apps.

I recently picked up the onn 4K Pro. It works quite well. It is very responsive. It does not passthrough TrueHD audio. If you need TrueHD passthrough, then go with the Amazon FireStick 4K Max or Nvidia Shield Pro.
