New Roku plex app, plex doesn't care

It’s pretty obvious with the terrible new release of the roku app that Plex honestly doesn’t care about user experience. They are able to easily ignore us here in the forums.

There is no way that they didn’t realize that several aspects of functionality simply didn’t work with the release nor is there a chance that they didn’t know that the ‘on demand’ and ‘discover’ garbage they have been pushing magically appears regardless of user settings to turn it off.

I wonder what would happen if instead of complaining here, if roku started getting reached out to instead. Something like,

  • Go to: https://support.roku.com

  • Sign in or start a chat

  • Submit a feedback ticket:

    “The recent Plex app update on Roku has severely degraded the user experience with poor navigation, crashes, and loss of features. I request Roku to work with Plex to address these issues or allow rollback to the previous version.”

I wonder how quickly Plex would magically realize they made a mistake if enough people reached out to Roku.

Please update the navigation on ROKU where we can submit a feedback ticket. I signed in but I cannot find such ticket submission. Thanks

I haven’t had any crashes. I work in tech and I’ll adjust, but my wife is non-technical, loved the old interface, and hates the new one. Seems similar to the new Netflix layout, which isn’t great either. It would be nice to see the old and new layout available in Roku app settings. Maybe even allow customized layouts from an XML or JSON server-side file or something like that.

At least give us a way to revert it. It is plain awful.

Clunky and not intuitive.

I bought all Roku TVs because of the Plex app and now it’s garbage.

I’ve been a Plex user for over a decade and it’s the first time I’m thinking of getting another solution that is not Plex.
