New UI experience on Roku is absolutely horrible

Continuing the discussion from Roku New Experience Release Update:

Yes “Let’s put it into production, then we’ll put it in test”. mentality it seems.

A very very bad release and horrible UI. Why did you (Plex people) fix what wasn’t broken?

Give users the option to rollback or stay, and in the future announce new release before: rolling it out with default to old (current) version and option to update, of course after updating to new version, if it proves to be unacceptable to the user, allow the user to revert . Not a hard thing to do but will keep users happy until you get things right based on user feedback.

You have to break things in order to make things better from time to time. This was definitely one of those times for sure. I’m pretty confident we will see an update of some kind come soon with how many people are chiming in about this. :rofl: :sign_of_the_horns:

I’m not sure how their dev teams operate, but if it were my dev teams and I were receiving this kind of feedback, I’d prioritize rolling out an alternative option quickly or even temporarily rolling back until a better tested solution was ready. Personally, I want my users to love every update we release and be excited for more, not feel driven away from the platform, but thats just me.

I have multiple servers and I now have to wade through every single library to get to the one I want. This interface is geared towards plex as a streaming service not plex as a home media management tool.

I want the previous version back.

They don’t care about what the users want anymore. The Plex team needs to realize why people use it. It is a media server and they want to do everything else. I can’t use this junk. I will have to setup something else this weekend!

This new UI sucks a$$! PLEX already wouldn’t automatically add new media unless I manually scanned the library, and now that function is gone.

Want to jump to a movie using the alphabetic character? Nope, gone. Gotta do a search, which is just extra steps, which is a step backwards from improving PLEX.

PLEX, give us the option to choose between this new “suck-a$$” UI, or the simple UI that works.

The folks over at Jellyfin must be loving the new business that you guys are pushing their way.

I submitted feedback this way. The new UI sucks, if it isn’t fixed asap then I’m dumping Plex. TV should be a relaxing experience, not wading through noise to get to the content I require.

I’ve had a lifetime pass for over 10 years, this is the 3rd time I have uninstalled and gone back to Emby because of interface changes. DONE !!!

This UI is absolutely the worst of any I’ve seen. It’s hard to find anything. No way to arrange my categories in a more reasonable way to manage. Please, please, give us an alternative UI.
