In the past month I have purchased a new Mac Mini (8 GB, 1 TB SSD, OS 10.11.3) and am using it with the Plex Media Server (0.9.15.2.1663-7efd046-OSX) to view my collection of ripped DVDs and TV shows, all of which I own.
For the past 3 weeks that I have been using it I have been very happy with the ability to view my video collection via the Plex Apple TV4 app. Very nice indeed!
I have noticed the following on a few random occasions:
1) Twice after selecting a TV show, the episode will begin to play and then the video will freeze but the sound and the show continues to play in the background. Pausing the playback and then resuming play fixes this.
2) Also twice after selecting a movie to watch, the movie starts to play but with no sound. Backing out to the menu and reselecting the movie fixes this problem.
3) Several DVDs that I converted to the m4v format using Handbrake play fine when I view them on my rMBP, but will not load and play via the Plex ATV4 app. The video either loops between the “Play” button screen and the “Loading” screen or a black screen appears and nothing seems to be happening.
Has anyone else noticed these behaviors and is there anything that I can do, or should be doing, to alleviate them?
