With version 1.42.1.10060 everything was fine, forced subtitles were set by default. Since version 1.42.2.10156 forced subtitles are no longer set by default. Please resolve this issue.

The auto-selection logic, after a long time, was finally fixed, not broken.
Enter your user account settings https://app.plex.tv/desktop/#!/settings/account
Edit “Audio & Subtitle Settings”
Tick the checkbox “Automatically select audio and subtitle tracks”
Set both Audio and Subtitle language to your mother tongue (or “preferred” language). It must be the same language for both, or it won’t really work.
Set “Auto-select subtitle mode” to “Shown with foreign audio”
This will cause Plex to auto-activate
“forced” subtitles if the audio language of the video is in your mother tongue
“full” subtitles if the audio language of the movie is NOT in your mother tongue
Keep also in mind that the auto-selection logic on this particular item will be completely disabled, once you manually select a subtitle in any Plex client.
(This is stored for each user separately.)
Language of the audio tracks in your video files must be properly tagged.
Language and type of the subtitles must be properly tagged
(it means only apply the “forced” tag, if the subtitle is actually of the forced variety. Don’t use the “forced” tag like a hack to activate the subtitle that you personally want to see.)
Thanks, it works now.
