Newbie Question - Home Working

Server Version#: not known
Player Version#: not known

Sorry, 1st post so messed up initial question (Doh…). I’ve set up plex media server on my pc and installed client on my tv and all is working fine. I’ve read a lot about how plex works but not sure about home working only. My requirement is not to have ‘outside’ access to my server/pc - I will only ever use this to watch home videos. I have read how to configure if there is no internet connection - but I do want internet connectivity for my pc. When I watch a home video on my tv by connecting to my plex server over my home lan am I watching directly over my lan only or is there some connection to the cloud as well? At the moment I have to log with my name and password which implies I am connecting to the cloud.

Your movies stream from your PC directly to your TV. They do not go over the Internet.

To prevent remote streaming from your Plex Media Server:

  1. Do not enable remote access in Settings → Remote Access.
  2. Uncheck the Enable Relay box in Settings → Network and Save Changes.

Plex Media Server and Plex client apps will contact hosts at Plex for user authentication, checking for software updates, and similar tasks.

Plex’s Privacy Policy has additional information.

Sorted - thank you for your help
