I have two spare macs that I could run Plex on - a 2012 MacBook pro and a 2012 mac mini. I’ve never used plex before and am looking for guidance to achieve this goal: I have an extensive itunes music library (currently on an external HD connected to my mac). At this point I only want plex so that I could access the itunes music library from anywhere. It is very important that the music tags and playlists remain intact when accessing the music library via the plex. E.g., I want to easily locate my itunes playlists when using the plex app on my iphone, etc.
Is this possible? If so, what are the general steps I’d take to implement this vision and does it matter if I use the macbook or the mini as the plex server/itunes repository?
Any advice or resources you could provide would be welcome.
