new to plex and want to know if it’s possible to control the server from phone or do I need to have a paid acct. ?
If so where do I find authorized devices in the app ?

You could sign into the webpage (plex.tv) on your phone to do that. I don’t think you can do that from the app. Whenever I want to manage my server I log in on my laptop, which my plex server is not on, and change things from there.
“Control” the server? How exactly do you mean this?
If you want to do anything more than play videos, you will likely need to use the browser or desktop apps to do things like configure libraries or edit metadata. Things like that that you won’t need to do often are also kind of hard to navigate with a controller, so they’re typically left for mouse controlled UIs.
Thanks but I was told that the player could be controlled from the phone app so hence the reason for my question
