Newly recorded Shows never match correctly

Hello, I have noticed that any new show that I schedule to record through the DVR/Live TV interface never matches correctly against TheTVDB or any other agent service.

I have to go in later and run a ‘Fix Match’, and typically search for the show.

  1. Is there a reason why the shows are not matching correctly? Any shows added from sources outside of DVR/Live TV are working perfectly.
  2. Could it be related to my agent setup?
  3. I am also noticing that when added to my TV Shows library, these specific shows are defaulting the ‘Show Seasons’ setting to ‘hide’ instead of ‘Library Default’.

What is your agent setup?
Which agent has been set as default in the properties of the library where your TV series recordings are stored?

OK, I think this is now done intentionally for DVR content.
Because very often the EPG has different information than TheTVDB.
Sometimes it doesn’t have season or episode numbers.
Sometimes it uses a different episode number than TheTVDB.
Sometimes it doesn’t even mark a tv show as a show but as a movie.

thanks! I look forward to hearing if there are specific issues. Also, now that I have run a ‘Fix Match’, episodes are adding correctly, with all of the data. So it leads me to believe that the DVR episode data has enough correct info to be added/matched, just the initial episode creating the ‘Show’ is not matching/choosing the correct match…
