My PMS is on a W10 Pro PC that has plenty of overhead and capacity.
I was having problems with recent updates and in trying to solve it purged all HTTP caches to be rebuilt when I re-installed an older version of PMS. I reinstalled 1.18.3.2156 and it was giving me problems too.
I forgot to untick automatic updates and this morning I awoke to find the most recent version 1.18.9.2571. had installed. As I was having problems with movie posters reliably downloading and displaying with the previous installation I performed a small test folder to see if the agents would work in this updated version and they did, yeah!
I unchecked previous paths to movie because I had consolidated all my movies onto one drive to simplify things with my libraries. So I scanned Movies and the process began. It went smoothly until arbitrarily it just stopped downloading and displaying movie posters but displayed thumbnails.
Was PLEX agent down? How could it retrieve and display correct information for hundreds of movies and then just suddenly revert to thumbnails for the rest of the scan?
Will scheduled tasks and / or scheduled library scans correct this?
I would post a crash log but wonderful Windows 10 updated (That I had scheduled days ago to install but forgot to update) and the crash logs are no longer there.
Not sure how to proceed. Everything was going great until for whatever reason PLEX would no longer post movie posters but thumbnails. No amount of rescanning or refresh metadata does anything. No change in assigning Agents.
I wouldnt know what to provide a screenshot of. 2/3 of movies have posters, 1/3 do not.
With 1.18.4.2171 performing as it should and corrcetly scraping posters/metadata it is clearly the best most recent version for this W10 Pro PC. I wont be updating any time soon. While I appreciate the drive to continue to improve and offer new bells and whistles what I want mostly is something that I dont have to spend 3 days fixing.
Still love PLEX, just quit tinkering and making us beta-testers please.
