This just makes things look kind neat, maybe in the background play trailers like netflix does with recent content, TV shows or Movies, think it would be a cool addition
Something like this would be cool (using saved trailer videos or using language matched trailers from youtube):
Only with an off switch. This may be the one thing about Netflix that I dislike more than horizontal scrolling.
I guess no interest on this feature: background trailers for series & movies.
Come on guys… pls VOTE!
A must have feature in my opinion, every service on earth has it, even Kodi with the “Titan Bingie” skin, if there is a legal problem with that, we can take full responsibility and add our own trailers if needed.
I don’t know how it is not bothering us Plex Pass users.
It would have given a spark of life to our collections.
Agree. I’m moving my topic over to this thread.
This has been brought up before but no traction was gained. Bring in the ability to auto play trailers when hovering over a movie poster or when browsing a specific movie/tv show. There is also a Reddit post about this which has gained popularity.
The ability should be there to turn this feature off as well.
This is a great way to enrich the movie viewing experience especially when browsing large collections or watching on non-desktop platforms.
this will be fantastic + 1 for trailer in background
Maybe edit the headline phrase, and add some keywords so that other plexpass users will be exposed to this request.
Adding those words as it may be searched by other and get some attention for voting: Netflix, youtube, autoplay, instant, menu, hover, disable, enable, PIP, snap video, manually adding video...if others have better key words or a better phrasing on this topic please add a comment or add this topic’s link to other related subjects in the forum.
Lets hope it will happen soon, really, this is a MUST HAVE!
+1,000,000 for an off switch if this ever gets considered.
+1 for this feature. I am confused as to why more people don’t want it??
It would be great to have an option for each library, to have an animated preview of parts of the movie/tv show and when not hover over it just displays the movie poster. Very much like a preview of a video on youtube.
Many people call them spoilers and go to great lengths to avoid them.
I would like to see this done except I would rather like to see the trailer played as Amazon firestick does on hover. Plex already looks very similar to the firestick’s layout as of 7/20/2021 and on hover Plex shows a still image as of now in the corner of the tv.
Now I would like to see Plex add the option to see trailer played in the corner instead of a still image.
Plex, are you considering this?
Please bring this to the new UI, I’m begging!
Thats why it should be optional, and should be turned off or on as you like.
Originally didn’t care all that much for this feature, but now I would really look forward to this, it would be a very great and lively addition to Plex, especially now with the esthetic of the Plex Experience app. This and bringing back the Watch Together Feature are what would make Plex Pass worth it for many, since there hasn’t been much of an impactful upgrade to plex since HEVC encoding was introduced. Instead a beloved feature taken away.
Also I feel the name of this post makes it hard for people to find it, maybe a rename might make it easier for people to recognize and find via the search function.
Just looks clean and professional, as is, people like the interactiveness of things like appletvs background and netflix etc
Hi all,
Hoping this feature may come. When highlighting a TV show or movie in the menu, it auto plays the trailer or plays a scene if the trailer isn’t available for that highlighted show/movie.
Then also have an option to turn this feature on/off for people who don’t want it.
Thanks
Moderator Edit: Moved your feature request to avoid duplication. @FordGuy61
I’m talking about when a user watches with subtitles, they download the subtitles and leave them on the server with the permission of the server owner.
Because each user has to request to download the subtitles to watch even offline, it would be easier.
