For me it is working great. There is a small issue that no all covers are selected with the first run. But have a double click on the movie, go to customize, select posters and you will see all your covers in the file. select one and do not forget to confirm.
Harley has done a tremendous great job.
I had to create a symlink to stop Harley's version from getting stomped on by a LocalMedia.bundle fix for unicode characters pushed at me by Plex Online. I have no idea if there's an option to turn those updates off (or if I'd even want to turn 'em off, actually), but the symlink works fine for my purposes.
Thanks again Harley! This is exactly what I needed :)
Thanks Harley that localmedia plugin works great. It has no problems with special characters and we can browse through all local jpegs. Even better than in Plex eight.
just wait until I get the plex backup and agent working. that will be nice. I am thinking about making it a scanner so you always have a current backup of your metadata.

@Harley
I am playing with your NFO Bundle. Works great so far.
I added the support for “Tagline” which was missing. Since you are an expert I think i don’t need to post the code.
Would be cool if you could add this code as well to your official release.
To the few problems with the Bundle I mentioned before (Director/Genre): I am still depending on your help with this. I know you are busy so I will wait for you to finish that.
I only have one question:
The time you will look into these problems… Will you be able to fix the Cast-Photo Problems, too?
I know that you are planing to use the Local-Media Bundle for Posters and Fanarts, but I recognized that there is no Line of Code in there for Actors-Thumb.
It sems like you tried to handle the Actors-Thumbs within your NFO-Scanner.
But since it is not matching them to the Charakters and only downloading the last image which will than be added to the Movie-Posters (where of course it doesn’t belong).
Really would like to know if you can and will fix this problem some time in future?
I’ll look into it today
just an update on the tv scanner. still working on it. Episodes are a pain. But slowly slogging through.
@Harley
love the agent and your work. I have a large collection 1800 odd movies which i have custom titles for some so agent worked great! I have used a combination of XBMC nfo exports(before i started using PLEX a couple of years ago) and Ember Media Manager, on my work laptop. I think it may be either Ember Media Manager or newer XBMC but it exports the movie tag with a namespace eg
I just modified the line “if nfoTextLower.count(’’) > 0 and nfoTextLower.count(’’) > 0:” to “if nfoTextLower.count(’<movie’) > 0 and nfoTextLower.count(’’) > 0:” to pick this up.
Have also been looking around in the medialibrary db, com.plexapp.plugins.library.db and there is a field in metadata_items called title_sort. XBMC supports a xml tag in the NFO called sorttitle which is a hidden title that is used for sorting of movies and it looks like PLEX has something similar now also, however it puts the title into this field, minus any "A " or "The ". Once i imported all my movies, ive modified in the database the title sort column for movie sequels, eg Alien sequel would sort like: Alien, Alien: Resurrection, Aliens, Alien³ but modify title_sort to have Alien 1, Alien 2, Alien 3, Alien 4 for the correct movies and they sort correctly.
Have tried to modify the agent to store a tag called sorttitle into title_sort, but from all my digging around in the Framework bundle, it looks like title_sort is not part of the metadata object??? Would have been nice if we could provide a sort tile to use also…
Again, great work and have held off importing my TV shows till that agents available
- PMS handles the sort info based on alphabetical order. Right now, this makes total sense. I think it would be more difficult to deal with display name and sort name. Maybe not. Maybe later if we make a good enough case.
- Here’s a shot at the tv nfo importer. Please let me know how it goes.
I installed the plugins and all, but I still can’t figure it out.
Would you mind including a quick absolute beginner’s guide to the installation and use.
Sounds great in theory though! Thanks!!
what are you trying to do, movies or tv shows?
Wow. Fast response!
Right now I’m trying to do movies, I updated tmdb, but it’s not updating/picking that title up accurately.
can you upload your nfo file? does it match the example given on page 3 or 6 of this thread?
It matches the format, but I’m having issues making them show up in media manager. I can upload the nfo file shortly.
Thanks again for your help!
also make sure you are using the 9-26 hotfix. that’s critical.
I am currently using the hotfix. Is there a certain place I should be putting the NFO files to show up?
Attached is the test NFO in question for a file of the same name.
they need to be in the same folder as the corresponding media.
Movie.avi
Movie.nfo
can you post your com.plexapp.xbmcnfo.log file?
I don’t have one on my cpu, this may be a really stupid question, but is there another program besides plex and your plugins I need to make this work?
In Finder
Go->Utilities->Console
Look to the left pane and find PMS Plugins Logs -> com.plexapp.agents.xbmcnfo.log and copy.
There is no additional program
