No 5.1 sound from Apple TV3

I have just setup and installed plexconnect to output to my AppleTV3

 

I am not getting any 5.1 sound from the box. When I select a movie in Plexconnect I can select a 5.1 audio stream but it only outputs as stereo PCM.

 

I am running Plex server on a Windows Home Server 2011 machine. Apple TV 3 is running latest 5.3 firmware.

 

Using the latest (non bleeding edge) release of plexconnect.

 

Is there something obvious I have overlooked?
