No access to local media on new Pioneer Xumo smart TV

Plex says that it cannot play my own media only the Plex streaming services, which defeats the purpose of using Plex. This is just a regular TV that is running the Xumo OS. The problem probably carried over from these Xumo cable boxes through Spectrum, which is all I see when I google Xumo+Plex. I am guessing the Pioneer TV, which is unrelated to any TV service, is running the same Xumo OS, so it has the same Plex app and the same stupid restriction to not see local Plex servers.

Since Xumo is not exclusive to the Spectrum boxes, please update your app for these Pioneer TVs. The TV was super cheap and I did not expect much from the “smart” part of it, so I’m planning on using an Apple TV anyways, but I’m sure others will start to run into this and not be happy.

In the contract to be on Xumo devices at all, we had to remove access to server because the manufacturer does not want it. Else not be on the device at all.

There are more people that only use our streaming service, than those who only use for access to a Plex Media Server.

Understood you had your hands tied, just unfortunate that it carried over to a “smart” TV I bought from a retailer with my own money completely unrelated to a Comcast/Xfinity/Spectrum cable box.

And yes I should say defeats the purpose of using Plex for what it was originally intended. You guys have added many things over the years, many that I love and many that other users find useful.
