I have a Plex pass. I can see Artist Mix builder but I cannot see Album Mix builder.
Anyone else every seen this? Do I need to enable some setting?
This is in the Android App.
Showing right next to the Artist Mix Builder in the Stations section of the home screen for me. This should not require any special configuration.
If there’s some hiccup… did you try force-quitting and restarting the app?
Server version number?
Is the music library using the native “Plex Music” scanner and agent?
If I recall correctly (not at home right now), the Album Mix feature requires Sonic Analysis to have been performed on the library.
Ah. Ok, that might explain it.
My NAS is ARM-based so I can’t. Curious that Album Mix needs that but not Artist Mix… Especially since it’s a manual selection.
Not really. All the recommendations you see after selecting the first album are based on the analysis.

I can’t find the setting in my Plex server you are referring to. Is it under agents or library?
You can find the agent if you edit the library, then go to the Advanced tab.
Then it’s the ARM CPU.
I’m willing to accept this, but one would think the Artist Mix would work similarly.
Artist Mix was introduced before Sonic Analysis was a thing.
AFAIR it uses the “Similar Artists” metadata from Allmusic/Gracenote.
There is no “Similar Albums” (I think).
Well damn. I guess with this limitation and the inability to Shuffle the Queue I’ll have to find another solution to playing music.
Such a basic requirement, shuffling across 3 random albums, just doesn’t seem possible with Plex…
You can always add the albums to a playlist and shuffle that.
The album mix builder isn’t just shuffling the albums but considering sonic similarity to get a smooth experience.
Yeah, I am using throw away Playlists to mimic what I want but it’s kinda rough.
And I get how you guys want to use Album Mix builder but what if I’m insane and want opera to be mixed with death metal and rap…It’s my music
