Im having this issue with my plex server where it stops playing audio if I play a specific title. This movie plays perfectly fine in VLC and MPC-HC. When this happens I lose all of the sound, and my fire stick stocks making the click noises when moving between titles but if I open any app (except plex) the audio still plays normally.
Im also noticing another issue with plex where it shows no details about the currently playing title on the dashboard. It shows whats playing and what user is playing it but no details about the codecs used or how it is being played.
EDIT
I used FFMPEG to create a new audio stream and its working now. Does anyone know why the dashboard doesnt show the details about the streams anymore?
I had that happen on my Shield. Used to be a pretty common bug where if you skip forward too SOON in starting to watch some videos, the player would hang, freezing up the audio. I could back out of the video and navigate around, but the audio engine was still stuck in a loop of some kind trying to play the prior file. Navigating around would usually be silent, or the occasional navigation sound but very scratchy.
Killing off the app and starting it again makes it work again, but so does giving it some time. I suspect the Shield CPU might be busy doing something that causes the audio to crap out. After some time, the “something” sorts itself out and goes back to normal.
Thinking about it, this hasn’t happened for some time, so I guess it got fixed? I didn’t look into it too much at the time.
