No Audio or Video

I’ve had this issue in the past with various streamers, but the fix had always been to just disable direct play.

Now videos won’t play and won’t have sound unless I convert to 480p or lower. Can anyone help me out? Thanks.

You might need to share some more details for anybody to assist…
e.g.

  • from where are you streaming (e.g. your own server, a shared library, Plex‘ online media sources)?
  • how are you streaming (local, remote, indirect)? → if you’re streaming from your own server, see the „now playing“ details on your server’s dashboard; see Server Status and Dashboard | Plex Support

  • if you’re streaming from your own server: what version of PMS do you have installed?
  • on what client(s) are you experiencing this behavior (platform and version)?

Media is local on a Synology NAS. I’ve tried Roku 4k Stick, AppleTV4k 2021-Newest update, and Samsung Tizen 2022. Nothing over 720p streams. Its never been an issue. Only the audio in the past.

Eheheh. Seems transcoding is resulting in a 10 GIGABIT bitrate. I doubt you got the wire for that in the house. It might explain the buffering. Is this before you disabled direct-play, or after?
