No audio when playing EAC3 5.1 files on desktop client

Cannot play files that have EAC3 5.1 audio on plex desktop client, I have seen some users say to clear the codecs folder in the appdata installation of the program but that did not work for me. Is EAC3 5.1 audio not supported on the desktop player because when i play it on my android device it plays it fine, the playback details on that are both directplay audio and video.

I’m having the same issue - but with Plex Player 3.0 - also on Desktop (Windows 7).

I’ve started having the same with Windows Desktop player - music can be heard but not dialogue. PMP works OK.

I installed Windows 10 Pro on the machine (format + completely new install) and then set up Plex Server + Desktop Player from scratch. Now EAC3 5.1 works fine…
