I did do a couple of recent Plex Server updates. Not sure how old the version was before those. I don’t routinely update them every month, but I am getting better about it
Feels like I should go ahead and “analyze” the full library. Is that easily done?
No point if it cannot even analyze one movie correctly.
Did you have to perform this procedure at one point after one of the recent updates? Plex Media Server security changes for Synology users
Yes I did
Check for database damage:
- activate debug logging (not ‘verbose’!)
- quit Plex Server
- wait 1 minute
- start Plex Server
- wait 5 minutes
- fetch log files and attach them here
Or inspect them yourself. Take a look at the Plex Media Server.log
file and seek for messages about database corrupt
or malformed
.
If you find these, you may have to repair your database.
I have them. I did open the Plex Media Server.log file and opened it in console, searched for the word “corrupt” and “malformed” and found no instances. How do I attach the log files?
Just drag the zip file into the message editor here.
I can find no signs of database corruption in your logs.
Are you saying that now every client can play the file, except the FireTV?
I haven’t tried the Fire client. That one is actually remote to me so it will take longer to test.
Things are definitely wonky. I can’t reach my Plex Server again.
I’m going to mark this as closed. After rescanning my library, rebooting my Synology NAS, stopping and restarting the Plex service and waiting a while, things seem to be working. Hoping that resolves the issue.
