Hi Baa
Are you asking me to split up the H:\ServerFolders\Videos\Tutorial Videos\Lynda com JavaScript Essential Training\02.Developer Essentials\02_07_Events.mov folder or the whole library?

Hi Baa
Did a fresh install asked me to sign in again. I moved anything from the folder i had added in the last 6 months.
I updated libraries, and can still access from every device as before but NOT Apple TV via Plex Connect
But still got same issue
See new log here
Hope this help i tried to keep log just based to the error only

Are you in a Plex home? If yes can you disable it temporarily? Also can you do as @baa suggested and shrink/split your libraries and/or add one file at a time to see what file(s) may be causing your issue? I would also recommend restarting your PMS host then to go into PMS (Plex Web) and click the gear (settings drop down) and update libraries, optimize, clean bundles & empty trash to see if it helps. Sometimes this helps me when PMS gets confused when adding/removing content or not allowing it to finish loading your libraries. I asked @elan if he could make this automatically happen in newer PMS releases to help prevent issues that I have had with this in the past.
Plex Home?
No idea what you mean sorry!!!
Those files have been there working for 18 months with no issue the ones i have added in the past 6 months have been removed.
I have refreshed Libraries about 3 times now
But still getting the issue, as i said they are showing up in every other device but not PlexConnect.
Should i create a new one and keep adding a folder at a time to it ?

If you don’t know what a Plex Home is you probably are not in one. Reboot your PMS host and do the entire gear (settings dropdown) steps as suggested above. You can try to add one file @ a time to see if you can find if it is a file causing it. But try the PMS stuff first before you go thru the adding files one by one if that is what you would like to try next.
Hi
I have just read what Plex Home is an NO we do not use it

Split the folder to and create more sections with less content each.
You don’t have to split the media itself - but that one file seems fishy as it doesn’t come with metadata. Just for testing, remove it completely. You might want to check if the other files are good with additional information.
What you also would try:
In /assets/templates/HomeVideo/List.xml, edit line 26 by adding the “:0”
<label2>{{durationToString(NoKey:Video:duration:0)}}</label2>
That way we should see a clean defaulting to a number, ready to get converted. It should work around the python traceback and actually put a valid duration into the generated XML.
Hi Baa
You have lost me completely these are video tutorial courses splitting them would not make any sense!

Can you ask please explain in more details what you want me to do?
Do you want me to empty it and add one folder back at a time?
Also strange why is the folder viewable on every other device?
I really appreciate your help

Well, splitting the big library section does make sense - at least for debugging. But now, as you already have subfolders (single tutorial), why not create a Plex section for each of them - that would give you small chunks to test. My thoughts are, that you have a couple of offending files, possibly with missing metadata or something else. See Roidy’s earlier post as well.
Once you have installed a myriad of smaller PMS sections, each with your 12x (4 to 8) files or so, go ahead and check all of them… I sure hope, some of them will work while others (the ones with “bad” files) won’t. At that point, I like to get a fresh log, just diving into one of the non-working folders to keep it small. This would help tremendously to figure out, what’s going on.
Every other device has a different client, mostly supported by Plex Inc. - and those guys typically know what they do. I unfortunately don’t really know what they do - a lot of reverse engineering and guess work went into those python scripts. It sure is possible that not every PMS feature is supported correctly…
HI i have noticed an issue i have set up a new Folder Home Videos and i keep adding a few folders at a time to try and catch the bad one out. I have notices they are all displayed as single video files not in folders;like they used to be. When i go to settings to select Folder in Home Videos i am unable to select any option in the list. But on the other area like TV Shows i am able to select an option for Nav bar
Hi Baa
Here we go i made Home Video 7 folders. I added batches into each one and checked to see if it opened in Plex after a reboot refresh and restart of PMS and an update of each library.
Good news and Bad
Good news first, all 7 Folders opened in PlexConnect no issue but Home Video 7 which had several folders and videos only displayed 2 videos zero length.
Even in Plex web was the same but the folders had some 60 videos in there. I noticed they were f4v extensions see video here
I believe Plex cannot play this but the other devices must filter this out so you can still load.
I have a log just of trying to start the Home Video 7 folder see here
So I got excited and thought I had found the issue I removed that folder from my problem child folder and rebooted and refresh and restart of PMS and an update of each library. I thought this would cure it
Bad news
Even after removing this folder and files will still not load. See log here of me trying to load my main folder again with that removed
So I then did a search on the whole of that folder for .f4v and I have 100s going back several years and these have always loaded with PlexConnect.
So I am back to square one not sure if something has changed in PlexConnect code recently that is blocking me now.
As mentioned my new folders I created I was no longer able to view as a Folder which is no good with home videos or pics.

PlexConnect’s code base didn’t change in month… but another variable is your PMS. It gets updates quite regularly, any chance that PMS changes did break it?
In your last posted log, the conversion process from PMS-XML to aTV-XML was still ongoing. With loglevel=High your aTV really needs more time - with over 4500 files in your section. If you really want to load that big a section, set loglevel to Off in aTV. You won’t get a log, but a much improved translation speed.
When i view my folders in Web or devices i see folders and can view eveything.
When i use PlexConnect i cannot also no longer allowing folder selection.
That is not PMS but has to be a PlexConnect issue to be honest
Wait… earlier you said the other client filter out a couple of files (like f4v), right?
I am confused, are the other clients able to replay all of your media? What happened to the “Home Video 7” files shown above?
Hi Baa
What i meant to say was for the other clients to display the folder they must filter this file type out? Just guessing as to why i can see this folder on everything but not PC.
No these folder are empty when you look into them on other devices Plex does not play f4v as i understand it.
Sorry"What happened to the “Home Video 7” files shown above??
What do you mean what happened to them?
Baa
Do you know why i can no longer see Home Videos in Folder view?
In PlexConnect the option is their but you cannot select it !!!
Has PMS changed and is stopping folder view and as a result i can no longer view my Home Videos??
No, I have no idea. I need a log (with generated aTV-XML) for deeper investigation. As far as I can remember your posted logs - albeit long - didn’t show the XML, though.
Again: Divide your library into small junks (20-30 files), find a bad collection and post the minimal log to open it…
Or… is every Home Video section broken?
Hi Baa
No opposite they all worked fine but none would provide a folder view any more???
