No Media Will Playback After Update - Error Shaka3016

I just updated to the latest version of Plex for my DS916+ and no music or videos will playback in Internet Explorer. The error says "An Error Occurred trying to play - Shaka3016. Never seen this error before. Tried downgrading and it won’t let me. Any help would be appreciated. Everything worked just fine prior to update. Thanks.

On a separate note, do you know why even after selecting read/write for my user on the plex folder is always seems to revert to no access. When I want to access the plex folder I have to go in and manual select read/write for the plex folder? Thanks.

by the way the uninstall and reinstall of an older version of plex fixed the issue I was having. not sure if i’ll update to the latest version.

i have the same issue on online stream, latest build (Version 1.9.7.4460 ) on windows.
Works fine on previous version.

I am getting shaka3016, shaka3015 and shaka1001 interchangeably while running IPTV on my ds3617xs box. I’ve tried safari, chrome and firefox on my mac os high sierra and using latest pms (Version 1.11.0.4666). I also have the latest synology firmware (DSM 6.1.4-15217 Update 5). The live streaming never starts. Tried many combinations for using original/reduced quality. Steps Q7+Q3 did not work for me either

Just seen this error on screen on a server im building for a friend…initially an install of Chrome solves the problem so for me, at the moment it seems to be and IE thing/error…

Also to add - a windows update has just fixed the problem for me. (running windows 10 pro) the server (HP microserver) was up to date bar a cumulative update for jan 2018. That installed, reboot and now ie is playing the video with no problems. I have other issues with playback on tv’s (at his place) but thats for a separate topic i guess…

I too am suffering from the Shaka3015 (media) and Shaka3016 errors. Video playback stops after a couple of seconds. Audio is choppy and cuts out. These errors are on every movie and preview my PC which is my server PC running Windows 8.1 but movies played on my Samsung TV connected to my home network play fine. These problems started about two months ago. I can’t seem to find any useful assistance online. I’m surprised and disappointed that I don’t get anything back when I type in the error codes on the Plex web site. Am I one of the unlucky FEW suffering with this? Some help to a casual user would be greatly appreciated because everything I have tried so far has failed. When I check for Plex updates Plex tells me that I’m up to date.

I downloaded a new series and after converting the files from mkv to mp4 also changed the audio channel to English, I also got the same error message, I tried playing it on my PC player " GOM Player" and it asked for a new codec so coreaac was downloaded and it played, but still not in PLEX, after a few attempts I reconverted the file using MOVAVI but with audio format “MP3” not AAC and this worked for me. I think that there is a new CODEC the people use and it’s not incorporated in PLEX yet. I hope this helps.
