I’m a bit confused—Shield Pro movies and TV media now don’t seem to have any details like director, actors, etc. It’s very strange. It’s almost as though the interface has been stripped down to remove the normal key information about the movie. If I select a movie for example, I can no longer see who directed it or stars in it.
I don’t see any option in the Plex Settings to add or change the interface. What’s going on here?

Is Plex on the Shield up to date?
Nvidia is showing no app or system updates are available. This app is version 7.23.0.13018.
Well wtf. This is confounding. Is App updates on Android really this broken, or is it an Nvidia problem or user problem?
It appears NVidia’s “App Updates” button does not work. You can go into the Google Play store and in the top right there is a section about your account, with a “Manage Apps & Games” option and then an “Updates —> Check for Updates” section. When you click it, it does a quick search and says “No Updates Available”.
When you actually long-press on an app, it simply gives you an option to uninstall and shows you the version number.
However, when you actually search that app in the Play store and select it, it will show you if an update is available!! And then when it’s performed, that update will show up in the “Check for Updates” section—even if you just did a check and it said there were no updates available!
Am I doing something wrong, or do I actually have to manually search for every App I own in order to find an update? It can’t be this bad, can it? As a former AppleTV 4K guy this is astounding.
The latest version is Plex for Android 8.27.2
I can’t say I have noticed issues with Plex updating but I hardly use my Shield.
Yeah it’s the best quality Plex client streamer I’ve found, but the Android interface is easily inferior to something like the ATV. Cheers!
