No Progress Saved

Server Version#: Version 1.15.3.876
Player Version#: 1.80 (Rasplex), 1.311 (Released), 2.29.0.964 (Nightly) on Pi3B

Hi everyone,

I’ve been using a RPi 3B with Rasplex 1.80 but tried Plex client 1.3.11 too when I discovered that my progress was no longer being saved. Progress of media on a remote Plex is being saved. I also tried version 2.29.0.964 and I note that progress is saved.

I’ve repaired the database per https://support.plex.tv/articles/201100678-repair-a-corrupt-database/ and even created a new database but the older versions of players will still not record progress. Empirically I think the problem began after the latest update a couple of days ago to the latest version.

I’d use the latest nightly but it’s not really usable as a daily client yet, the video takes about 3 minutes to b begin displaying and the GUI is still in need of serious optimization. Please could someone point me in the right direction, is it some kind of corruption or are these older clients simply no longer supported?

Thanks
Ian

Update: I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled Plex Server (Windows 7) while saving the database and registry settings, with no difference. Also noticed that Plex Web Client does save progress.

No replies, that is disappointing.

I’m also having this issue and agree with all of the comments from Duggers. What’s the deal?

I’m having the same issue also. Plex pass with latest update on syonlogy, player are OpenPHT / Plex-web / Android.
It would be nice to have an answer to this issue.

Perhaps related to this much-discussed and thoroughly beaten-to-death forum topic?

TL;DR
It’s a known issue with certain non-API-conformant, third-party players. The Plex team is looking into working around it on the server side.

This was fixed in the latest server release. Thanks Plex
