Plex not saving unfinished episode history

whenever I stop an episode before finishing when I play it again it starts from the beginning and not where I left

What’s the version number of those apps?

If it’s the older unsupported Samsung app it will not be “fixed”. Not so sure about the PS4…

This is exactly what is happening to me and why I came here.
I just updated to the newest public release and that’s when it started happening.

It’s only happening to my RasPlex install on my main HTPC. (where I watch shows/movies 99% of the time).

Clearly I won’t get support from RasPlex as there haven’t been updates in about 2 years.

I guess my question is should I just downgrade PMS or try upgrading to the newer beta?

It is so irritating having shows positions not save, especially since we’re so busy we almost never get to finish what we’re watching.

For both clients above, the following applies (where it mentions OPHT) I suspect:

Plex Server 1.15.3.858 and above broke save resume on OPHT, Orca and Other Plex players

What you are experiencing is actually a bug in OPHT where it is reporting play progress incorrectly during the process of resuming. In certain circumstances this play progress was ignored by the server but the cases where it is ignored have been lessened. Now OPHT’s broken behavior is being exposed. There is at least one other bug in OPHT’s play progress reporting that I have seen before.

As @gbooker02 mentioned above, the change in behavior addresses buggy behavior; specifically, when you are seeking around in a video, and then seek back to the beginning to make sure it’s not saved at that offset, that beginning offset was being ignored. The change in behavior does make it more susceptible to buggy clients, and that’s unfortunate, but ultimately we made the decision to help the majority of clients.

I guess that means that I’d have to:

1. Downgrade PMS for the time being. But this response makes me think it will just remain broken indefinitely.

2. Use PMP (I really dislike PMP because of how it doesn’t let you get rid of the mouse arrow (or at least the version I tried didn’t)
   For me, RasPlex(OpenPHT) with the Plex Black Edition Skin is WAY better. It allows me to choose multiple ways to view library layouts, do audio offset syncing, and lets me use my IR/wireless remote with my HTPC in keyboard only mode. Having one remote to control everything has become a way of life for us, and using PMP and having the arrow move with the remote movements was highly irritating.

3. I read that you can get Kodi and get an official Plex add-on. Will that remain supported or is that another one of the OPHT types?

4. Please give me a suggestion I don’t know about! I really like to have as many options as possible, but I’m willing to use something that has less options if I can use a keyboard and keep the mouse turned off (even though the mouse is being moved).

I use plex in windows Versión 1.15.3.876 & sansung smart tv version 2870 and i have this problem. Some soluction?

I’ve been having this issue as well, latest plexpass server version, OpenPHT w/ black edition skin, as well I use a Samsung Series 6 smart TV.
