I Have tried over the last two weeks to get this up and running, I have even supported you with a lifetime pass, but every time I install the server and run it all I get is no server found endlessly spinning on the Plex.tv site. What have I done wrong? I repeatedly uninstall everything plex related reinstall the server and media player yet still no server found?
It would be nice if some one could answer this dilemma since all other posts with similar problems have no response as to how to fix it.
On another topic if I don’t get an answer and start using Plex how do I get my money back?
Let’s walk through it.
What OS do you have?
Is PMS actually running?
Check the device manager and make sure Plex Media Server.exe it there.
What do you see from this site http://127.0.0.1:32400/web/index.html ?
If you just installed Plex Media Server, the hosted Plex Web at plex.tv may not work depending on your network setup. Use the provided local version of Plex Web. Easiest way is to find the Plex icon in the system tray, right click on it and select “Open Plex”. You can bookmark that page for later reference if you need.
I’ve been having this same problem for the past week. Something has had to change. My server is Linux Fedora 29. Its running bc I can play it from my phone but it won’t always connect to my Chromecast. Sometimes after many tries my cast-enabled devices will show up but sometimes even when they show up, it wont connect to the chromecast but will connect to my google speakers.
Ok, I have uninstalled everything Plex related using the windows uninstall app.
Rebooted my pc, switched off my pc, left it a week.
I have just visited plextv web site signed in and then downloaded the plex server. still no server found. I have taken a screen shot of the looking for server and task manager
A big thank you, that did the trick. I did a complete uninstall including the registry, reinstalled now I have the server and it is scanning my pc for files as I type this.
