I’m a little bummed to have just learned that Sonic Analysis is not supported for ARM based CPUs. I just migrated to a Synology NAS w/ ARM. While I don’t really use the features that benefit from sonic analysis, I much prefer to see the waveform in the player to a flat progress line.
Can anyone tell me if loudness leveling is still supported? TIA
^^^ (that could be a deal-breaker for this NAS !!)
Loudness analysis is a separate thing from “Sonic analysis”.
It should be supported on ARM just fine.
After you’ve enabled it under
Settings - Server - Library - ‘Show Advanced’ - “Analyze audio tracks for loudness”
it should start analyzing your music during the server maintenance.
Keep in mind that even just a relatively simple task can take significantly longer on a low-powered NAS CPU.
Is the Sweet Fades feature supported along with analyzation for loudness?
Can you tell me, also, if the analysis that was completed on my library before I migrated from Windows to Linux (Syno NAS) would have or (should have) transferred over with the other metadata? Or will all tracks have to be analyzed again?
As for the transfer: just take a look at the Plex media info of some audio tracks. If you see numerical values for loudness, then the transfer appears to have worked.
But I’m a bit pessimistic about that.
Is Plex for Windows or the Plex Web that I get by opening from Plex.tv adequate? If so, when I use the “get info” link on either of those I’m not seeing any reference to loudness in the media info, including the full xml
Edit: I do see deepAnalysisVersion=“6” on the xml for a couple of flac files that I checked. Could that be it?
