Hello Plex Staff, my app just got updated over the weekend. The msg came to enable the new player. Which I did. But now I get no sound. Then I reverted back to the old player and the sound is back. So clearly something about the new player is causing this. I am on a T5 box running Android TV version 9. I have 3 boxes and all don’t work with the new player. A friend has a google certified Mi Box and he is fine for some reason. He has the new player enabled and the sound is working for him. Its the same MKV content (he ran the exact same file for me). Is this a known issue? When will this be fixed?
I dont think thats a known issue you should post the android logs after playing something on new player.
Ok will do. Was there any detailed announcement on the new Player? What is it and why it was added, etc. Maybe that might give a clue to what is going on here. I somehow missed it if it was sent. Or if there are any release notes. Its not clear why they suddenly decided to update the player. I am sure they are trying to make it better, etc. But not sure how to communicate with them to report the issues.
here is the log. The key issue is that it is not able to update the audio drivers. On some boxes the app says “Updating Player support” and then it works fine. But on others it does not do anything. But if I disable the new player, everything works fine.
