Minix 1138 crash.txt (1.1 MB) XML.txt (3.3 KB)
I have reported the video playing and the audio speeds up several times. No responses i have sent the crash reports on every revision thru the plex app with no update. Every few weeks my kids call me at work telling me plex is broke again! Every week i have to tell them to into setting and turn off the new player.
I have asked which forum i should post having an issue with the new player with no responses.
If we will only get the new player fixed in the beta forum than say that . Most people dont like their paid for apps to break every other week. So allow the option to leave it off permanently and let the beta groups and testers report .
Similar issue here. Plex working on the Xbox One X app but on Android TV my JBL Link Bar videos stopped playing altogether - as in they don’t even load. In fact, I get the error “An error occurred while attempting to play this video. Please try restarting both the Plex Media Server and this app.”
I went into the settings, disabling/enabling things one at a time and re-testing. Turns out, disabling the new player did the trick. Once disabled, videos started playing again just fine.
Similar issues here with the new player. I have all of my content encoded in H264 format. With the new video player, I have noticed videos starting with a frozen image and audio playing. Image will then sync up and play when the audio track “meets up” with what should be on the screen. Example 20th Century Fox music intro will be playing, yet the video is frozen on the opening credits of the movie. Movie will play normally when the audio gets to the part of the video file where it is frozen. Also have noticed that subtitles will “hang around” long after the spoken foreign dialogue has been spoken. One of my films had “get them” spoken in Japanese, and it stayed at the bottom of the screen for almost two minutes! Does not happen with the old player. Please let us disable the new player and enable it by choice with each update. It is getting old having to switch it back every time that there is an update.
Minix gets an error with new player.
Mi Box S only black screen with audio.
With old player everything is fine on both.
Also it looks like after each update of the client you have to disable new player.
Plex Media Server.log (5.4 MB)
Here is a log.
First time playing with new player resulting in error
Second time playing with old player, everything fine

Sounds like a dna rebind issue. Does your router have an option to white list domains for dns rebinding? Do you have set secure connections as preferred?
i dont know the first one, but i can find out.
But what i dont get is, without restarting or anything, the old player does work.
Does the new player make a new connection or something?
Because everything else just works, also with new player on.
If new player is on, i can still scroll through library, see images, read metadata, see new content.
That requires a network connection.
