No subs on Apple TV

I have a movie with subtitles (.sub and .idx) and when I watch it with the Plex app on my iPhone, I can see the subtitles.
The problem is that when I watch the same movie with Plex on my Apple TV, I can select the subtitles, English (VOBSUB External), but the subtitles are not displayed.
How do I solve this?

Server Version 1.25.6.5577
App version 7.29.1.
