There is currently no way to view an ongoing extended recording after the originating program ends (and disappears) in the guide.
As an example I am recording the MLB World Series (go dodgers!) and extending the recordings by 60 minutes (because it’s sports and the World Series). The scheduled program starts at 5pm and ends at 8pm. I extend until 9pm. If I try to watch the recording at 8.15, there is no way to do so. The recording:
- Is not visible in the library yet (it’s still recording)
- Not available to select in the guide. You can still play whatever the next program is, but selecting “start from the beginning” will start that program from the beginning, meaning 8pm in my example, not 5pm like I would want.
- Shows up in the DVR schedule as currently recording, but you cannot play it from there, only change settings.
This means I either have to:
- watch it live, or
- wait until 9pm when the extended recording finishes and shows up in the library.
Can we get some way of playing a current extended recoding from the start, even if the program is no longer visible in the guide? Maybe from the dvr schedule or library?
