I have the same problem on a QNAP TS-451 and I’ve wasted days trying to find a solution. I created a Plex user, and gave RW permission to the share that has the folders TV and Movies. I’m still getting the write access error. I really don’t have any more time to waste on Plex. I’ll explore other alternatives to record OTA from my HDhomerun.
I need the logs please.
On QNAP, Plex runs as the administrative user and does not need permission to access anything.
This as given, I need to see the error message generated by the OS.
A common cause is a full disk.
The disks aren’t full. In fact, they’re less than 25% of capacity. But, it’s OK. I just terminated my PlexPass. I’ve come up with some better-supported alternatives.
Thanks for your response, though.
So instead of providing the logs from Plex that would help troubleshoot and likely resolve your issue, you have chosen to go with a completely different solution.
I guess I am not sure how your unwillingness to provide the requested information equates to a lack of support by Plex, but to each their own.
