Non- Managed users getting prompted to buy apps

Hey guys, unless you are a managed user it seems as though you will get prompted to buy a plex pass for most apps, I think apple and google ask…

why does this happen if they are invited to my plex? Can I have a list of apps that require purchase unless you are a home user? the Samsung app doesnt ask as well I dont think the apple tv app asks

Only the ‘mobile’ apps are not free: iOS, Android mobile, Windows App store

All users who were invited into your Plex Home, should get these apps for free.
Not all of your shared users are in your Plex Home too.
(That’s probably intended. Not all users should be invited, due to the ability to easily switch user accounts if you know th 4-digit PIN of the other user. And the number of additionaly users in a Plex Home is restricted to 14 anyway.)

If any of your regular ‘shared’ users is requiring one of the mobile apps, they can get it for a one-time fee in the respective app store.

Yeah essentially every apple TV user and chromecast user, unless they are in my home they have to pay which is stupid to me…

so I have it so anyone who isn’t on those two are on my home as well as invited… but now Im running out of home users and dont want people to have to pay or they wont even bother

Neither CC nor ATV require a payment.

Samsung never required anything.

yeah so that sucks… I’ll have to shift some of my samsung, roku users to invited users and only have home users for people with Chrome and ATV

on another note, is there a way to add notes to a user? we should be able to see all their devices they logged in with

I think you still didn’t understand me. The use of the Plex apps for Roku, Chromecast, AppleTV is free.

No, because these devices are logged into the plex account of your sharees, and not into your own.

they get prompted to buy plex pass if they arent added to my home, Ive tried it several times… unless Im doing something wrong, but after 1 min of play they get prompted if on chromecast or ATV… Let me re-verify… thank you for your patience and response

That is an offer. They are not required to buy the Plex Pass to use the app.
