Is it possible that the new scanner adds actors to the starring cast when they played in more than the amount of episodes in the shortest season? Could you please stop doing (or only if the TVDb and TMDb don’t have any starring cast) that because there are a lot of actors who just appear regularly in a serie and when it’s a large serie this can cause them to appear in the starring cast an example is friends. On TMDb and on the TVDb you can see that there are only 6 people starring but on Plex there are 10 because the last season has 18 episodes and so it takes all the people who played in at least 18 episodes.
I’m most likely in the minority here but more the better IMO. I’d like to have cast list scoped per episode so when I go to a show/episode I see all the cast in that episode (assume the data is available for that from IMDB, TMDB or TVDB).
As a final version at some point in the nirvana future I’d love to be able to select any cast member and have that bring me to a list of shows, movies they are credited for against content on my server. This would include listing for shows they are NOT a starring cast in but did appear in at least one episode.
I loath having to open up my phone and IMDB/TMDB when I’m asking myself what else do I know x cast member from.
Also… take Game of Thrones as an example. The amount of series critical cast not on the list is flawed when trying to filter starring casts. I could think of 100s if not 1000s of shows it would become a problem.

This is already available but it’s just not visible in the new web client if you use the old one you can already see the cast at episode level
Yes I hope they do this too and I think the will but because cast at episode level is not supported in the latest web client they are propably going to wait for that
I never had an error with any show I had, the starring cast is always filled in for each serie on TMDb an TVDb. But what I suggest is that IF there would be one show who doesn’t has any data on TMDb or TVDb they can try guessing which actors are starring in the serie.
This is another problem with the new agent because I checked all the actors for Game of Thrones during the summer vacation and added pictures for the whole cast who didn’t have one yet on TMDb so that show is complete. But it’s indeed wierd that the new scanner only shows 10 starring actors if you look at TMDb you can see that there are a lot of cast members missing but that’s another issue.
I suspect based off comments in the alpha preview thread that the 10 limit cast lists are a bit of a work in progress.
I guess it will increase overtime as backend work is finished on the metadata cache servers.
