None of my movies are playing - Looking for suggestions for troubleshooting

Hello

Looking for suggestions to fix my server .. None of the movies seem to be playing yet they had been playing ok for the last months – I am on Version 1.6.1.3722

Server security updates are done

The error i get is " There was a problem playing this item"

Any changes to the content or server they are run off of?

Close the Plex server application, wait one minute, start the Plex server application, wait two minutes, then use a client to play a movie. When the error happens wait 30 seconds, then download the server logs and post them here for review.

I’ve been having this issue as well with 1.6.1.3722-4955e31cf

it seems to be mainly impacting iOS devices as my Apple TV and iPhone via the plex app won’t play content but I can via browser

i have the same for media that was working last week from a browser from the pc server. some saying codec issue. nothing has changed

codec failed ro could not be found. literally cant play anything i have tried

Yep, same thing. Before I was able to stream a video that now I cannot…

Post your logs, without them there’s no way to troubleshoot the issue.

Have you updated your OS or something? This happened to me recently and I reinstalled PMS. Now everything is fine (https://forums.plex.tv/discussion/269639/solved-most-shows-stopped-playing/p1?new=1)
