On Roku or old school VCR you can see the show while fast forwarding so say you know when a commercial is over. Then you can stop fast forwarding. However with my new Shield TV it just gives a time say 30 seconds or 540 seconds etc… how can I go about seeing the show and not just a timer when fast forwarding… is their a setting somewhere…??
The server needs to have preview thumbs enabled which will appear on the scrub bar as you move across it. When you have the control showing on screen press up so you see the white mark at the current position and then move left right to change position.
Just FYI if you’re going to do that you should know that the video preview thumbnails can take up a lot of space depending how large your library is and what kind of storage you have.
