Streaming many movies have suboptimal volume levels and or dynamics that force a person to have volume cranked up to hear much of anything only to have some portions of sound to be too loud and distorted. (wide dynamic range.) Instead of just offering small or large audio boost is there any way you could add ffmpeg audio filter dynaudnorm (-af dynaudnorm) without any parameters? (The default works very well.) I use it on all my transcodes and it boosts audio significantly without distortion. Only caveat is that you do need to have ffmpeg look ahead a bit. ( -probesize x)
