Not adding bonus content for tv shows

hi, how do i see my bonus / extras for tv shows? , they arent showing up in my library.

Stupid question… Are you following naming conventions for the bonus content and placing those items in a Season 00 folder? Don’t mean to assume you aren’t, just eliminating the Easy Fix first. :slight_smile:

For example:

Buffy the Vampire Slayer/Season 00/Buffy the Vampire Slayer - S00E01 - Unaired Pilot.mkv

ok, i just tried that, im using filebot and match the tvdb data to get the filenames, and for bonus content for batman beyond this is what it named it “Batman Beyond - Special 5 - Gotham City of The Future” which is in the season 00 folder

You need to stick with the naming schema for tv shows – even for tv show specials!

This example should work:

TV Shows    <- the folder linked to your tv-show library
  Batman Beyond
    Season 00
      Batman Beyond - s00e05 - Gotham City of the Future.ext

Where .ext is your actual file extension. You can also drop the episode title part after the season/episode pattern as it’s ignored by Plex anyway.

As for Filebot, I forget where, but there is a setting that will better rename the files to Plex standard.

But, I often find that I have to manually rename specials because for whatever reason they get ripped with all sorts of odd naming conventions that Filebot doesn’t always recognize.

ok i just named them as how they would show on the tvdb site ( filebot names them as “seasonXepisode#” and that does work for plex, so i just did the same maunlly with the speical tv epiodes. now for movies , how would that work , regauding bonus content?

To be clear, Plex does not support extras for TV shows like they do for movies. Any specials/extras must be placed into a “Specials” or “Season 00” folder, named using S00Exx format, and match accordingly in TheTVDB. If you want to add something not listed in TheTVDB, use a fake episode number not already used.
