I use Plex for almost 15 years now, I payed for lifetime and in return I get screwed over.
- Hetzner is one of the largest hosting providers in Germany. The copyright laws here are sometimes even stricter than in the USA. Hetzner would never ignore copyright inquiries, etc. Why is the easy way being taken here? It seems it’s intended to get rid of most users. Also this action being taken is not legal in Germany or the EU.
- This secrecy about how Plex even comes to the conclusion that so many users would do illegal things comes from the fact that Plex definitely accesses data they are not allowed to access.
- We were all sold software here that no longer exists in this form.
I have already spoken with my lawyer (who, by the way, is one of the 2 other people who have access to my Plex) and we will take action against it. Really a shame how a company forgets its roots and sells off it’s loyal user base.
