Not Allowed to use Hetzner

Because when a responsible citizen who cares about society recognises something is wrong, they speak up in favour of those who are being wronged, even if it doesn affect that citizen at that time.

This is how a healthy society works.

If you wait in silence and only speak up when something affects you personally, it will be too late by then.

Hetzner being the first in line means that when illicit individuals transfer their servers to other service providers, more ISPs are likely to face restrictions. For sellers who offer shared Plex content, the cost of server migration is simply passed on to the users. However, individual Hetzner users will bear the full price difference in this process.

Plex Lifetime Owner here.

I also got this E-Mail.
I’m using Hetzner because my ■■■■■■ ISP Upload is way too slow for remotely checking into my own library.

@Plex please revert this change or I will (sadly) need to switch another Media Server :frowning:

Yeah I agree. I don’t user Hetzner though I did a year or two ago.
My comment was aimed at those who feel like chiming in to suggest what Plex are doing is acceptable.

I also use Hetzner due to bandwidth issues on my home connection. This is a ridiculous action by plex, but tbh I am in a way glad. Plex for me has been going downhill for many years now, And this move by them has finally forced me to uninstall and install Jellyfin and so far I am loving it.
Canceled my 5 plex pass subs

If this really is to stop people selling plex access why not just limit the number of people you can share a plex server with to 10 ?

Are you that stupid? It now hit Hetzner and I use that. What is next. OVH?
I do know people that sell their Plex on their Home NAS. Lets say the provider is XYZ in Sweden. So lets just ban them too?
It is so simple and coward Chris (I am shamed to share a name with such a looser) such just see
Ok. If you are at Hetzner then ok. Limit streams to 10 or 5 or so.

Are you sure you meant to reply to me and specifically that post you linked to? In that post I simply asked why people who don’t use Hetzner (or OVH, etc) are getting involved and why they’re trying to defend Plex stupid decision.

Basically I agree with everything you say and you’re calling me stupid.?

Oh and who the ■■■■ it Chris?

I suppose you’re all decent people in real life, so please behave accordingly in the forum as well (I know this is the internet and common rules don’t seem to apply
 forum guidelines still do apply).

No need to go down to name calling. You’re perfectly entitled to rant/vent/complain
 but keep it civil!
Even if it makes someone feel like a martyr it can still get you benched in the forum as a last resort.

I supposed Plex was a decent company too. It showed to be aggressive towards its users.

Where are the top players in this decision?

Keith Valory, Scott Olechowski, Schuyler Ullman, Scott Hancock, Christa Foley, Dean Mayer, Shawn Eldridge, Todd Hay.

Your customers want to know why you are taking this nonsense decision.

You refered to these defending what Plex is doing.
Sorry if that came wrong

I did everything right and they Plex indicted banned me! SAD!

I’m asking again because nobody has replied.
Is anyone else who’s using Hetzner already experiencing issues when attempting to associate a new file name with an actual movie or TV series using the “Plex Movie” agent?

If anyone wants to leave a review about plex.tv services, here it is: Plex Reviews | Read Customer Service Reviews of plex.tv

Mine is still matching stuff, at least it did with a Movie I just added.

Cherry-picking and banning is not okay imo, especially coming from company like Plex. Either ban all providers or none.
There has to be a better way as this doesn’t seem like one.

Changed the agent from “Plex Movie” to “TMDB”. Now it’s matching as it should. “Plex Movie” doesn’t match anything anymore on Hetzner.

As suggested, limiting concurrent streams seems to be the best way.

Can you imagine, how frustrated some people are?

Just ban all those accs with 50+ friends

I would GLADLY take a limit on concurrent streams / friends - or maybe even some form of extended validation of my account! I really don’t want to go back to having my server at home.
