Not available outside your network

Windows 10 based server. External access has been working fine until this week but now is showing not available.
Odd thing is that the external address shown does not match what is shown in router and on sites such as whatismyip.host and canyouseeme.org. These all align to each other and the router (so no double NAT) but Plex is for some reason showing a different IP address.

I updated to latest version… 1.12.3.4973 but problem still remains. Restart had no effect.

My ISP is sky broadband (ADSL2).

Is there a way to force Plex server to pick up the real external IP (as shown on those other sites & router)?

Please help.

Just a bit more info… I checked the external IP address that Plex has detected (via plex.tv if I read this right from the forum) and it comes out as a Cisco ‘Scansafe’ IP address range.

I’m just wondering if this is a result from updating Cisco AnyConnect. I also recently installed the Horizon Citrix/VM Client but nothing looks odd in network adapters or the likes.

Switched Debug on, then did a retry, clearly shows it getting the right address from the router but plex.tv having the wrong address for me…

Is the incorrect Sync ID the cause? Does this mean I need to re-authentical my server to Plex.tv somehow?

Logging the server out, then re-claiming it initially seemed to do the trick as it showed green as accessible (even though it still shows the external IP is still different to what is shown on router and IP checker sites) - but it did not work outside my network.

VERY odd.

It is showing once again as not accessible from outside.

I tried following the forum guidance but when I look at the plex.tv XML using my toke, it shows the incorrect external IP.

I’ve tried changing password (force off any connections) and re-logged the server back but it still seems stuck on the wrong IP address. Can someone help get the plex.tv site to record teh correct IP (as shown on other sites, and the router).?

Attached is my server log with Debug enabled, in the hope that someone can help.

Apr 27, 2018 20:27:02.757 [120660] ERROR - MyPlex: mapping failed due to potential double NAT configuration

I see this in your log.

Thanks for suggestion, but as I say, I checked the forum and the Checking for double NAT articles but from what is on those I do not have double NAT as what is reported by my Router (also picked up in Plex server log) matches what is shown on both whatismyip.host and canyouseeme.org.

It seems that the only site that has different is plex.tv but I’m unclear on where this comes from. Is it something that my server is sending to plex.tv as part of registration?

The only thing that has changed recently on my PC is an auto upgrade of the Cisco AnyConnect client to 4.2 (which I don’t now use as it causes BSOD). Given that the wrong IP address being reported is a CISCO owned range I took the plunge and removed it (it contains a VPN client - disconnected, and some ‘web security’ modules).

After doing so, the PLEX address suddenly showed up correctly. I suspect that Cisco any-connect (or v4.2 of it - there is now a v4.6 but you cannot download without a cisco account) has some sort of hidden web VPN/Check that was reporting back a different address to Plex.
