Nothing but stereo on PC/HDMI....

I’ve got a Plex Server that I mainly access via a Roku, but that’s been a disaster with the most recent version (a Premiere+). As a result, I’d like to do some testing with running Plex on my PC and outputting that to my home theater setup. All of that seems to be working fine except that all the audio is in stereo only regardless of the settings in the player.

What settings (and where) can I change to get 5.1 and 7.1 audio going? My source data supports it (and it mainly works on my Roku, but that’s experiencing bad dropouts with the current firmware). I’m just not at all clear why I’m stuck with stereo.

Which app? Plex Windows app (from the store), Plex Web, OpenPHT or PMP? I’d recommend PMP or OpenPHT.

Thanks. Turns out my audio device (in this case the projector) was set in Windows to Stereo. Not sure how that got set that way. Something must have reset it.

Even then you probably want to use PMP or OpenPHT instead of Plex Web as web browsers usually don’t support surround sound.
