I’ve looked through the forums (and Google) and can’t find this mentioned anywhere, so here:
Watching live tv though a connected HD Homerun, and one program changes to the next. For example you’re watching several back to back 30 minute shows.
The now playing metadata continues to show what was playing when you originally tuned to the channel, even if there have been several program changes between then and current time.
This is noticeable (in my use case) when playing on an AppleTV and seeing what is currently playing on the iPhone lock screen controls and what is now playing in the Home Assistant integration.
if I stop playing and restart it immediately shows the correct now playing info and pausing Plex knows it’s correct in the status bar at the bottom of the player.
Is there a way to make Plex refresh what it is sending to other devices “now playing” when live programming changes programs?
