Is the MusicBrainz ID or GUID available in the Plex metadata?

Server Version#: Version 4.108.0
Player Version#: N/A

I’m working to report on my Plex music listening history - please take a look at this blog post if you’re interested in the context: Analyzing Plex Media Server Data using Power BI – BI Polar

To make my reports more useful, I am hoping to include additional metadata from MusicBrainz. I understand that Plex uses MusicBrainz as a metadata source, but I cannot find any keys in the Plex database (or the export files produced by WebTools-NG) that wlll allow me to JOIN my Plex data with MusicBrainz data.

I’ve looked everywhere I know to look - thanks in advance for anyone who can point me in the right direction!

It should be stored in the tags table of the database, connected to metadata_items via taggings:

SELECT tags.tag AS MBID FROM tags
INNER JOIN taggings ON taggings.tag_id=tags.id
INNER JOIN metadata_items ON metadata_items.id=taggings.metadata_item_id
WHERE taggings.metadata_item_id=YOUR_ID_HERE AND tags.tag_type=314;
MBID
mbid://abcdef01-2345-6789-0abc-def012345678

Do you know about https://eavesdrop.fm/ and https://listenbrainz.org/ ?

This is fantastic - thank you, drahn!

OttoKerner - I’m not sure how this relates to my question. Can you please elaborate to help me understand?

I’ve just followed your link above. Apparently you like to have some analytics and statistics about your listening habits.
That’s what Listenbrainz aims to provide. And you can use eavesdrop.fm to feed listenbrainz with the music usage data of your Plex server via webhook.

Thank you!

My goal is to build the report, not to have someone else’s report. Working with the data is the reward, not the cost of achieving a specific output. This is why I was asking the specific question I asked, rather than asking about usage analytics in general.
