NVIDIA SHIELD
im thinking of getting a shield but unsure.?
i have a drobo 800fs pro and a drobo 5n
the problem is

1.is the shield a full blown server .as on the plex site it says it is.???

https://www.plex.tv/apps/tvs-consoles/nvidia-shield/

i quote from the site…All-in-one powerhouse
With support for 4K video, streamed games, and a powerful processor, NVIDIA SHIELD is perfect for Plex.((( It runs your Plex Media Server )))and our elegant Android TV interface, making SHIELD the perfect all-in-one Plex device. In addition to powering Plex, SHIELD itself transcodes your content, so you can stream all your content to any of your other devices.

2.reading on the nvida site its just a player and you need a plex server in the back ground to run it.?

i quote from the site…
With(((( Plex Media Server built-in, SHIELD Pro)))) is the perfect way to enjoy all your media whether at home or on the move.
How Does Plex Work?
Plex is an intelligently crafted, centralized home media playback system that can serve as the central hub to ((((stream your media to SHIELD via the Plex Media Server software that is installed on the host computer.))))

3.so can any 1 answer this please.??
4.both nvidea site and plex site conflick with each other lol…???
5.so is shield a player or a server.???
6.if shield is a server can i just have content linked straight from naz e.c.t and not run drobo 5n plex server.?
7.many thanks for any help guys and dolls.!!

The Nvidia Shield is both a server and a player. You can run both at the same time as well.

This has some useful information for you - https://shield.nvidia.com/blog/how-to-setup-plex-media-server

SHIELD also lets you attach either a USB hard drive or a network storage device (NAS). To attach a NAS, go to Settings Device Storage & reset Network storage. Select and login to your network attached storage. To add folders from an attached NAS or USB drive to Plex, access your Plex Media Server settings from any browser at https://app.plex.tv/web/app.
